Canvass

June 2013

Canvass was an intimate fundraising art exhibition and gala featuring artists from around the country. Artists were encouraged to submit works of art for the Canvass exhibition that explore a personal issue on which they are taking a stand for the betterment of their lives. This sold-out event received lots of media attention and was featured on WCIU's You and Me This Morning!

 

Catching Dreams for Canvass

May 2013

During Catching Dreams for Canvass, fifth grade students created original artwork in a workshop at Both Sides Art Gallery in Pilsen! These students worked hard for human trafficking prevention and their artwork was sold during a silent auction immediately following their workshop.

 

The Dreamcatcher Foundation Fundraiser Luncheon

May 2014

TJA, Inc. provided the artistic experience to enhance this fundraiser which was hosted by Ted and Susan Oppenheimer. With original paintings and a musical experience, guests gained a better understanding of human trafficking and the amazing efforts of The Dreamcatcher Foundation. This event was featured on ABC News Chicago and covered by Marion Brooks. 

 

Oak Park International  Film Festival

September 20th, 2014

TJA, Inc. hosted an art exhibition in conjunction with the 10 year anniversary of this festival. This yearly festival is held at the Oak Park Library in Oak Park, Il on the third Saturday of September.

 

Chicago International Social Change Film Festival

September 26th-28th, 2014

TJA, Inc. hosted an art exhibition in support of international social change. This yearly festival is held at the Showplace ICON Theater, the largest theater in Chicago, and attracts people from all over the world!

 

Paper Dolls and Action Figures: TJA Grand Opening!

During our grand opening, we exhibited this traveling art experience. Artists from around the world participated!

 

Inner Selfie Workshop: Wine and Paper Dolls

November 8th, 2014

TJA, Inc. partnered with Women Empowerment to host a painting workshop to unleash the boundaries that confine us. Participants were led in a painting activity and discussion surrounding relationships, vulnerability, and expectations.

 

Paper Dolls and Action Figure at Society Art Gallery

December 2014- February 2015

We partnered with Society Art Gallery as the 5th stop for our Paper Dolls & Action Figures traveling exhibit!

 

Create With Yo' Mate: Valentine's Day Edition

February 14th, 2015

In partnership with Natural Hair Bride, this paint and sip event celebrated love! Couple's painted and dined together and were able to strengthen their relationships in the process.

 

Winter Blues Group Exhibit

January-Febrary 2015

This group exhibit sought to find light in the darkness and to tackle mental illness. This exhibit featured artists from around the world!

 

ParentPowerChicago Summer Resource Fair

April 2015

We were one of the featured exhibitors at the ParentPowerChicago Summer Resource Fair at Navy Pier. We spend the day networking and promoting our camp, paper heART: A Social Change and Arts Camp.

 

Lake FX Summit & Expo presented by Google

April 2015

This summit was held at the Chicago Cultural Center and we presented a workshop titled, Activate! Creating Art that Changes the World. Participants created postcards and left inspired and with a preliminary gameplan as to how they will contribute to social change.
